The all new NX is a very important car for Lexus, as it belongs to the market thats constantly growing in popularity. This pseudo-sport-utility vehicle is festooned with Lexus design cues form the last couple of years. I have already addressed !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and what direction they are taking Lexus to. And, to further prove my point, I had quite a surprise whilst seeing KBB's review on the NX when this made its entrance.

This looks to be a tacky mirror you buy downtown from a store that would also sell bright colored makeup and .99 cent hand lotion creams from brands you'd heard before. What is it doing in a $40K plus vehicle? Lexus decided to put it right there. As of this year, you can buy your brand spanking new NX with crap thrown in the center storage bin for free.

This removable vanity mirror is sold as an accessory even though the car already comes equipped with a vanity mirror on the sun visor. The reason of doing this? I'll let you decide.

Because they want a part of the bullshit option list market. Why not? If people are vein enough to pay for it, why not make it an extra option?

Good point. I know automakers give what the market asks for, but I think this has gone too far.

Its as if WRX's came with 1 very deep cupholder just for a Monster energy drink.

Have you seen the NX in person? It's a lot better. People have actually been raving about how good the quality of the interior is for the price.

I have seen it, and it does look better than in photos. But I still dislike it. Interior though is of top notch.

Several comments.

1.) In general, completely agree with you about Lexus. They have really fallen off pace from BMW / Audi. Especially for me as an AWD performance car fan. Why they don't have an S4 / 335Xi competitor boggles my mind (the 350's don't count since they're much slower).

2.) I kind of like this car! It's a little small in the boot but I think i like it. In line with what I said above i'd love to for them to make a fast version of this (like a SQ5 or a X3 w/ the big motor..etc)

They think they're being "innovative" or something. What they're doing is making a car so incredibly ugly, that nobody else wants to copy them.

Exterior styling has never been a very strong suit of Lexus, IMO, but prior to this they were at least "okay looking." Now they're doing that whole "intentionally 'polarizing' to be 'passionate'" crap.
